What is it about s_x that afterwards puts a man into a deep-coma-sleep but causes me to be awake until the wee hours of the morning. Oh wait. Did I say me? Let me start again. I have a "good friend" who told me...

So, it is 2 a.m. I am tired but I can't sleep. I tried to read. Tried to just think. Tried to not think. Tried to Farmville. Nothing works. What the heck...I will just try to blog for a while.

(Is it okay to make sexual comments in the same blog entry as a Shabbat description?)

Friday night. Kabbalat Shabbat. Carlebach style. My first Carlebach style service. Wow. High energy. Deep davening. Joy. Dancing. Prayers-turned-to-nigguns. A lot of li-li-li-lis and la-la-la-las. Just when I thought they were ending, more li-lis followed. I loved it. Sometimes I get more out of the li-li-lis then the actual structured davening.

Some things I dig...leaders on both sides of the mechitza. Their voices--clear, strong, sure. The extended nigguns that seemed to have no end in sight. The dancing. The smiles. The children. Running free. Back and forth. Being kids. Being allowed to be kids. The intention with which people davened. The joy-infused energy.

I see the appeal. The Carlebach appeal. Carol, I get it now.
