One-Two-Three-Four

...

It is strange. I eat no potatoes, rice or bread for three weeks and minimize my starchy vegetables...and somehow I gained two pounds. Hello, body! That is not the way it is supposed to work!

The visit to the doctor, besides the realization that I am eating less and still gaining weight, went well. He ordered a series of things, like another fasting glucose test, lipid panel, comprehensive metabolic panel, TSH, T4 Free and Microalbumin/Creatinine Ratio Random UR. Basically, he is testing my blood glucose after fasting, cholesterol, HDL and LDL, triglycerides, a group of 14 tests that give status of kidneys, liver and electrolte balance, thyroid, hyperthyroid, urine for sugars with regard to the kidneys.

I also had to start two other things tonight. One, testing my sugars. Relieved that my 2-hour reading after dinner was only 100! I ate light and healthy, and exercised an hour before eating. Two, working out. I am supposed to work out 30 minutes a day--five minute warm up-20 minutes cardio-5 minutes cool down. More on that drama-mama tomorrow. Think tacky white warm-up suit, treadmill and a place called hell and that will pretty much sum it up.
