A Storm is a Brewing

As you have probably heard, there is some kind of snowmageddon, snowpolcalypse, icemageddon or icepocalype going on here in the Lou.  Don't get me wrong - I love a good, hard snow.  As long as I don't have to drive in it, shovel it or play in it.  Yes, it is true.  I am not a big sledder, igloo maker or snowball fighter.

I do love to sit by the fire and read while my children watch movies.  I love that my husband snow blows the driveway.  I like to sit by the window and watch the dogs pounce in the snow.  Back in the day, Alia and I used to position ourselves by the front windowsill to watch Chandler and the neighborhood kids build shields and have intense snowball fights.

Before we knew about acid rain, when I was just a little girl, my mom used to make snow ice cream -- some non-yellow snow, a big cup of sugar, a bit of milk.  It was slushy and yummy.  If we had food coloring, my mom would add a drop or two for green or blue snow ice cream.  It was always delicious!

Yes, that is the missing ingredient. My mom used vanilla extract, too. Thanks, Rob. Oh, I mean "Anonymous."
