Back So Soon?

Yes, it has been quite some time since I have made the effort to post a blog entry.  Mainly, we have been dealing with lots of fun things, like illness after illness after illness.  The household is currently all well, and tonight we are holding a sort of Shabbat-Passover-Birthday Bash for Neviyah since hers had to cancelled earlier due to said illnesses.

Passover was just fine, except for the part where Alia had a 102.6 fever.  The food was delicious, the company great, and the Seders how I like them when I have a child under 4 - quick. The definite highlight was the caramel chocolate matzoh bark that Erin made.  Also, in a strange way, seeing what must have been a box of matzoh crunched into my bed by jumping children, was a highlight.  Call me crazy - but seeing kids do mischievous things that are fun in such a careless way is enjoyable to me.

My mom's chemo is at its end.  We meet with the radiologist in a couple of weeks, and then there is the follow up with the oncologist.  I believe there will be scans and other things to see what is going on as well.  Although radiation will be no picnic either, we are told it will be milder than the chemo symptoms.  Now, if I could just get my mom to stop doing risky things, like spraying cancer causing chemicals, eating cancer causing foods (although she has WAY improved in that area), etc.  I haven't really seen my mom much lately because of the back to back sicknesses at our house.  A big thanks to my sister, Kelly, for her mowing my mom's lawn and making some dinners.  Thanks to Aunt Kathryn and Aunt Jamie for taking her to scheduled chemotherapy sessions.  Thanks to anyone else who has been providing meals and company to my mom!

This weekend, I hope to be able to take advantage of the cool weather and moments of no rain to take a few brisk walks.  I did a 15-minute ab workout the other day and it nearly killed me!

I will leave you with a few pictures from our Disney trip (these are for you, Galit!).
